Varuna Anand of The Splendor of Kashmir had the privilege of meeting Mr. Zubair Ahmad Mir, Director at the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, during her recent visit to Srinagar, where she explored the intricate design and training section of the institute under his guidance.

From understanding the process of digitizing traditional motifs to learning the detailed techniques involved in both carpet weaving and the exquisite art of Kani weaving, the experience offered a deeper insight into the extraordinary heritage and craftsmanship of Kashmir.

As a student of design, learning remains a constant and evolving process.
